What is an Accredited StreetPrint and StreetBond Applicator?
Square One Paving Ltd. is accredited by manufacturers that own proprietary processes involved in the installation of coloured and pattern imprinted surfaces using asphalt. These processes include the specially designed equipment including the StreetPrint – Asphalt Stamping Templates, StreetHeat – Asphalt Infrared Reheat Equipment and Tooling, Asphalt Sprayers and the Streetbond Advanced Coatings for Asphalt.
The issuance of these certifications to Square One Paving Ltd. means that Square One meets all the training qualifications associated with the manufacturers and that the highest standard of decorative stamped asphalt installations is executed.
How is a StreetPrint driveway, patio or walkway installed?
The process is very simple : the specially designed StreetHeat reheater passes over the new or existing asphalt heating the asphalt to the correct temperature. The StreetPrint template is placed on the asphalt and a vibratory plate compactor is run over the template. The template is removed and the impressions are now in the asphalt for the life of the asphalt. After the imprinting is complete the coating begins. A specially designed Coating Sprayer sprays the StreetBond coating in layers. Each layer of coating dries quickly and once that final layer is applied the driveway is ready for use.
How long does a StreetPrint asphalt imprinted driveway last?
StreetPrint stamped asphalt driveways utilize StreetBond Advanced Coating Products which are designed to wear with the grace and realism common to concrete brick pavers over many years. The cement component of StreetBond, combined with the color pigments, provides for a realistic brick-like appearance. The surface is fade resistant and helps to repel harmful UV rays.
The usual wear associated with StreetBond Advanced Coating products over time is cosmetic. With other forms of decorative surfaces the failure tends to be structural requiring a more expensive and disruptive repair. The StreetPrint application can be made to look like new again by simply re-applying a fresh coat of StreetBond Coating. This will freshen up the existing colour or enable a customer to entirely change the driveway colour. This option is unique to stamped asphalt driveways which makes a StreetPrint driveway not only practical but cost-effective.
Why Choose a StreetPrint Driveway?
The StreetPrint installation process is quick and causes minimum disruption.
StreetPrint uses asphalt as its base. Asphalt is a flexible surface that is more likely to accept shifting due to weather extremes and can resist cracking commonly associated with other driveway systems. Vehicle braking/accelerating and steering will not shift or break StreetPrint. If a StreetPrint stamped asphalt driveway is ever damaged, it is very easy to patch with asphalt and then the StreetPrint impressions are matched up, restamped and a once over recoat makes the repair virtually invisible.
What is StreetBond Coating?
StreetBond Advanced Coating Products have been developed over the last 20 years to work exclusively with the flexibility of asphalt. Its formulation of polymer and cement components help to fortify the asphalt surface making it stronger then uncoated asphalt and give it great performance properties. Once the imprinting of the asphalt is complete the StreetBond is sprayed on in layers. StreetBond comes in a wide variety of standard colours along with any custom colour and LEED colours.
Is the StreetBond Coating environmentally responsible?
StreetBond Coatings are nontoxic, fully recyclable and water-based. They have very low volatile organic content (VOC) and meet the most stringent environmental air pollution regulations.
What maintenance is required for a StreetPrint driveway?
StreetPrint decorative asphalt pavement is a continuous surface and its protective surfacing system does not support organic materials, so the weed growth seen with other paving products is not a problem on a stamped asphalt driveway thus eliminating a huge maintenance issue.
Excessive abrasive materials ( sand/dirt) on the driveway can decrease the life of the StreetPrint so the driveway should be periodically flushed with water to remove any abrasive materials. Use a low pressure, high volume rinse. StreetPrint is resistant to oil, grease and gas, however, it is advisable to remove any from the surface as soon as possible. Use ZEP Citrus Cleaner, scrub the area with a stiff brush, and follow with a high volume, low-pressure rinse.
